“Ultimately it reads at a fast pace and kept my attention.”

Review from The Indie Express – July 28, 2020

“This isn’t just Post Apocalyptic, it’s that plus the harsh elements of winter and so many other factors that you don’t always get with a novel like this! It’s not cookie-cutter or light-hearted. It’s dog-eat-dog and full of danger.

Wonderfully written with great imagery and no skirting around topics. Sam Kench brings you a gritty tale that will keep you flipping pages.”

Review from Texas Book Nook – July 22, 2020

“Action-packed from the start. There is a lot going on and the author does not let his foot off of the gas at all over the course. It’s an edge of your seat kind of read that will have you engrossed. Wonderfully written, strong characters, solid plot, and overall very well done. “

Holy Tarantino. That’s all I can say about this book.

The Fall of Polite is a very dark, very graphic post-apocalyptic novel that feels very relevant to today’s times. It follows three different main characters as their stories inter-connect throughout this snowy, cold wasteland that is New England.

Looting and rioting and general unrest trigger the fall of polite, and soon, the land has become lawless and untamed. Racism. Sexism. A blatant disregard for fellow humans. It’s all packed within the pages of this novel. And it’s not pretty.

Sensitive readers may want to skip this one, or read it with caution. There are some graphic death scenes and a rape scene. People get shot. People get crushed. People get decapitated. And the scene with the razor blade attack is disturbing and made me cringe. It’s a violent, horrific novel that isn’t for the faint of heart.

I rather enjoyed the dark, depressing nature of the story, which is a bit weird, all things considered, but I’ve always been a bit macabre, so perhaps that’s why. I thought Maria was a great character. She was tough and didn’t let anything stop her. I felt bad for Eamon. He had suffered so much, and even at the end, he was just a sad man with no real hope left. And Charli and Maisey were pretty awesome too. I was a bit surprised by Mark’s character arc and how he played out in the end. Not what I was expecting at all.

If you’re a fan of dark post-apocalyptic stories filled with strong characters, a heavy dose of violence, and a well-crafted plot overall, check out The Fall of Polite.

4 stars!

Review from The Avid Reader – July 11, 2020

My Review:
The world is going to he!! in a hand basket as they say. As the world falls apart evil comes crawling out in many different forms. A new world is upon us. The new motto is kill or be killed.

There are no more rules or laws. If you want to survive and live then you must learn to adapt to the new ways. Nothing belongs to anyone anymore not even the clothes on your back. If you are strong enough to take the shirt off someone’s back then said shirt is now yours.

A young girl grieving the loss of her father is attacked by her neighbor and betrayed by someone close to her heart that she trusted with her life but no longer. She sets out on a 120-mile hike to her Aunt’s the only place left for her in the whole world in a snow driven blizzard all alone.

The Fall of Polite is action-packed it kept me glued to the pages as all the evilness came out to play. The Fall of Polite had me in tears more times than I can count and when I wasn’t bawling I was so mad I bet you could have seen steam coming out of my ears if that was possible of course. There were a lot of characters that I didn’t care for at all that made me so mad.

I know there is an evil in the world that only the rules and laws are the only things keeping that evil in check. Take away those laws and it would be power and chaos.

Once I picked up The Fall of Polite I couldn’t put it down until I had read the last page. The Fall of Polite is one book that will stay with me for many years to come. While I enjoy reading books like The Fall of Polite there are some that I can’t with all the violence and vivid descriptions. The Fall of Polite is so well written that I could see each and every scene playing out in my head like it was a movie.

I highly recommend The Fall of Polite to anyone who likes reading books of this nature or genre with a lot of violence, evilness and death. If this is your thing one click your copy of The Fall of Polite today!
